So we are already 3 weeks in to February and holy cow that went by fast! This month brought a lot of change to our family (and I mean a lot), but it is way too much to get in to now, so I will focus on the first and foremost reason, being me going back to work!
I was fortunate enough to be able to take 14 months off from work to have a baby and that was an amazing gift and benefit for our family. I was able to give my body a break from flying to allow my body the proper rest it needed to grow a human being, I was able to be home after having the baby to let my body fully recover before putting any strain on it, and last but not least, I was able to be home for my baby in those very first precious months of life. As I said before, what a blessing, right?!
So I started February 1st, I am 3 weeks down and it has been great! I was able to work 3 weekend trips so far and was lucky enough to have my family with me on those. My first two layovers I was joined by my hubby (which made for 2 amazing weekend dates) and then for my third layover I was joined by my entire family! I've had such a blast traveling with my family again and I can't help but feel so incredibly blessed. What a fun and amazing life we lead. I truly love it!
Anyways, with all that change going on I failed to figure out a new workout routine for myself. Going back to work has definitely been an adjustment for me so I guess I'm not surprised by the delay, but this is much longer than I wanted or anticipated. Especially after how hard I've worked to get to where I'm at. I wanted to be going strong still so I can take my body to the next level, if you know what I mean. ;) Lol! But it probably doesn't help that I am feeling good about my body and how I look again. I am definitely feeling confident and comfortable in my own skin and that is probably exactly why I haven't just "found a way" to make it happen. I am normally a "no excuses" kind-of-a-girl and I rarely let anything get in my way of working out, but I totally let going back to work be my excuse this month. I guess I just didn't have as strong of a motivator as usual....
So I did not start a new workout regimen this month, however, I did make use of the gyms on my layovers. So not as often as I would've liked, but at least that was something?! (Plus it's free, so you can't beat that, right?!)
And although I didn't do anything but that, I did finally figure out what I am going to do, and that is none other than.....
Again there are not many options around these parts as far as gyms go (only one of two), so I realize that this may be a given, but there is actually a reason for this choice besides just the availability. :) But one of my favorite parts about it is that the hubby is going to do it with me too again! He is ready to get his body back (because he gains weight during my pregnancies too, haha) and I am ready for change. Plus I feel like Turtle Bay did what it needed to do for me, but now that I've lost the weight it's time to focus on strength training. My goal now is to tone everything up. Now it's time to beach body prep for the summer :) and I have a good 3 months to make it happen.
So wish me luck! I have a feeling I'm going to need my blog to help keep me accountable. Week 1 begins tomorrow. Aaaaahhhhh! Can't help but feel super nervous. Tell me why I am slightly dreading it, but somehow excited at the same time. Hehe. Well here goes nothin'....
Also, here is a video of one of my layovers this month. As you can see, we did get a gym workout in before we started our day. I just love living that healthy lifestyle and making it a priority even while traveling! :)
