Ward Camp. My kids favorite week of the entire year. A kids paradise. Where they run wild all day and night without a care in the world. Where they leave sun burnt with blood shot eyes and peeling skin. But not gonna lie, we love it just as much as they do. It’s the week parenting is made easy, a time where we grow closer to our ward members and relax literally all day long. It just doesn’t get any better.
As a side note: we were super bummed our camp was cut short this year (due to Mother Nature and trees falling the week prior), but on the other hand, I loved that we got to enjoy our entire Saturday there. (That was actually when we finally found time to make s’mores). Usually everyone is packed up and gone by the time we wake up, but our whole side of camp stayed the entire day until the evening. It was a nice change and it seemed as if we gained a day back. Anyways, seriously in love with this #hawaiilife we live.
P.S. My calling in our ward is Relief Society Enrichment Coordinator (basically activities planner) and my committee and I cooked up some pretty fun activities for the ladies: Sunset Yoga on the Beach, a Hike to the Ehukai Pillboxes, and a Ladies Pamper Night. I had a lot of fun coming up with these alongside Hi’i and Kekai and I am grateful for my capacity to serve our ward in this way. (We actually had 2 more planned in addition to these, but since camp was cut short 2 days this is what we ended up with. Hope the ladies enjoyed it!)
