Okay so now that January is done, I just wanted to do a little recap.
For some reason I felt very bloated in the beginning of the month (it was probably from all of of the holiday eating, as well as the holiday traveling, which resulted in unhealthy eating choices) so besides the regular working out and eating healthy, I took some extra little steps to help my body this month.
For one, I made sure I had a green smoothie every single day. I am already in the habit of drinking green smoothies so it wasn't too hard, however, I do skip days here and there. But what I wanted for myself this month was to have at least one every single day. And the easiest way for me to do that was to just make it immediately after getting home from working out. And because I was already in the habit of working out every day, making the green smoothie right after was easy. It became the routine and I was successful. Except this time instead of just having my regular green smoothie, I would also add lemon and cayenne pepper to each one. Now I will say this, I do not know much about detoxing and have never done an official detox before (it is on my to do list, lol), but I have heard a great deal about lemon and cayenne pepper and how those ingredients aid in digestion and detoxing, so I figured why not throw them in my smoothies and see if it helps. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try and even if it doesn't really do anything, I know for sure that getting my fruits and greens in regularly will definitely do the trick!
So I did that, I worked out everyday, I started watching my portions again, and lo and behold, my bloating started going down! It took a good week and a half to two weeks for me to notice a change, but it did eventually go down and by the end of the month my work pants were able to fit me without having to suck it in like I had to when I went in for my fitting at the beginning of the month. So it was a SUCCESS! All of my health efforts paid off. :)
But now I am craving change again (I go through this every so often), so after 6 months of Turtle Bay classes, I am ready to switch up my routine. I am not exactly sure what I am going to do yet at the moment, but I can feel a change coming on... Will update later. :)
P.S. This granola from Turtle Bay is amaaaazing! I don't know where they get it from or if they make it themselves, but I am going to find out because I need this granola in my life. This papaya yogurt bowl with granola is the most delicious but light and refreshing breakfast a girl could eat. I am going to make this a regular in my diet. So good plus I could use more probiotics in my life. If anyone knows about this granola, please share the aloha with me. :) Xo!
