Getting Fit After Baby

Trying to get fit after baby has been quite the journey so far. As a first time Mom I didn't know what to expect, but I just worked hard and tried my best, and now I'm happy to report some good news.

I'll start from the beginning of my weight loss journey, though. So on June 7th (at 2 1/2 months postpartum), I became a Gold's Gym member with hopes to lose the weight that I gained during my pregnancy.

I gained 40 pounds total, but was left with 20 to lose on my own and I am happy to report that now, three months later, the weight is gone. I can officially say that I've lost ALL of the weight that I gained during my pregnancy. Yay!!!! But dang was that long and hard. I didn't expect it to take that long, but at the same time, I don't know what I was expecting with this being a first time experience for me and with me eating the way that I do. 

So for journaling purposes, this is what my health journey looked like. I walked and jogged during my entire pregnancy (second trimester and on), then after having baby I needed a full 2 months to recover because of complications. Then thanks to the Gold's Gym Zumba and Turbo Kick classes, I lost the 20 pounds over a 3 month period. Like I said, it didn't come off as fast as I was hoping it would, but when someone recently told me the saying, "9 months to gain, 9 months to lose" I thought, I'll gladly take the 3 months. Haha! Little did I know, my body did good. :)

I do have a little bit more weight I want to lose, though (since I started off my pregnancy with a few extra pounds), so now I'm going to switch it up and attend the Gold's Pilates classes. I figured I'd switch up the routine to prevent plateauing, to get toned, and to lose those last 5 pounds I need to get rid of to get to my "ideal weight/body." Losing 25 pounds is no easy task, but I'm almoooost there! Wish me luck because I heard the last 5 are always the hardest.
