It has been a cold and windy month of November and beginning of December so far and I just wanted to do a quick update on how working out during the holiday months has been going so far.
So I started off November doing great, however, after our busy Thanksgiving weekend, I got sick! I think it was a combination of the drastic weather change (constant rain, wind and temperature drop) + our very busy weekend. We had to feed the missionaries that week, we celebrated Thanksgiving with both sides of our family, then had our son's 3rd Birthday Party on Friday, a BYU vs. UH football game on Saturday and a cousin's mission homecoming on Sunday. Busy, busy, busy, it's no wonder I got sick! But for that next week I had a hard time working out. I got in a few easier workouts at Turtle Bay here and there, though (which is better than nothing), but not what I was hoping for.
Then the following week, I got sick again, but this time it was more of the food poisoning type. I had an upset stomach for almost a week! So due to that and my low energy levels, again I was only able to get a few easier workouts in.
My workout of choice when I am not feeling well has been the Pilates Reformer class. I love that I can get a workout in still without feeling like I'm drained and exhausted afterwards. It is a workout that I feel I can still do while feeling a bit under the weather.
So although things are not going as I planned and hoped for, at least they are still going. I haven't completely fallen off the bandwagon, but I could've been doing a lot better if I wasn't sick. Even with the eating! I cheated more than I had planned, but that's simply because it is harder for me to be "all in" on the eating side when I am not "all in" on the working out side. For some reason that is just how I work. I'm more of an ALL OR NOTHING kind-of-gal, so the fact that I am even here in this weird middle spot, is pretty crazy in and of itself. Again, not ideal, but like I said it is still way better than me throwing in the towel like I would typically do in this type of situation. It's definitely not my comfort zone, but I am doing what I can. :)

On a happier note, the hubs and I got a fun adventure date in on Thanksgiving morning! Love when we can get away and do something fun together, even if it's just for a short hour. Something is better than nothing. :) Love our adventure dates!
