Kicking up my feet because ward camp is DONE! We camped at Hukilau Beach this past week and it was so much fun! This years theme was Hunger Games and as a huge Hunger Games fan, I was all about it.
And although this falls more under the "adventure" category, I wanted to blog about this here because it also falls under the "spiritual" category, which in my world equals WELLNESS. :)
So a little background. Our opening night/FHE started out with a few people acting out a scene in the movie, which was followed by a spiritual thought pointing out how Jesus Christ was once our tribute. After the thought, our camp was divided in to 4 districts and the rest of our activities/competitions were done in those groups (our district flags, iron chef competition, assassin game, obstacle course, lip sync competition). And that's not it! There were so many fun activities every day for the primary, youth and relief society, some of my favorites being walking/swimming to Goat Island, water kickball, learning a new hula, making haku's (pictured below) and participating in/choreographing part of our districts lip sync. Not to mention, the many fun game nights and late night talks we had. We had too much fun! Huge thank you to our ward camp director & committee.
"And blessed are all they who do HUNGER and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost." -3 Nephi 12:6
Not only is my spiritual cup full, but everything is! Definitely got that beach bug out, as well as all of the outdoorsy stuff that we love so much. Not to mention, awesome family time and many new family memories to look back on. So although I fell off the wagon food-wise, this to me, is what true wellness really is. It is being able to kick up your feet (here and there) to enjoy the priceless moments. This is what life is all about. Xoxo!
